Club Singles Box Leagues – New Round

Registration is now open for our singles box leagues. The round will start on Monday, July 31st and will end on Sunday, October 1st.

You can register to play until 2 weeks before the end of the round (September 17th), but we recommend registering as soon as possible if you intend to play to facilitate the organisation of the groups.

We’ve added a Women’s Singles League due to interest from club members.

⚠️ If you’ve already played in our box leagues before, please simply email Louis Pernet at pernet.louis24@gmail.com to confirm that you would like to play this round.

How do our box leagues work?

How many matches will I have to play?

At the start of the round, you will be placed in a group of 5 to 7 players (depending on the number of registered players), meaning you can play up to 6 matches. You can then arrange matches with players from your group during the round and try to play and win as many as possible to finish at the top of your group.

Match format

The default format for this round is best of 3 sets, with a championship tie-break at 1 set all (first to 10 points). You can play another format if you would like (e.g.: full 3 sets, fast-four), but you will have to agree with your opponent prior to starting the match.

How do I register?

We’re using the LTA’s box ladder platform, meaning you will need to use your LTA account to register for a league, and your account needs to have “Meadows City Tennis Club” registered as a venue, as this league is only open to current members.

You can check out the LTA’s guide if you’ve not done this before. When that’s done, you can click the links above to access the LTA’s competition portal and register for the league.

Entering match results

After a match is completed, the winner will have to enter the results on the LTA’s platform. Please enter the result in terms of sets won (e.g.: if you won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, enter that as 2-1 for 2 sets to 1).

Arranging your matches, communicating with other players and data

Players will have to arrange their matches themselves over the course of the round. When the round starts, we will be in touch to let you know your group and how to contact the other players. The winner of each match will have to enter the result on the LTA Meadows Box League page.

Please be proactive in arranging your matches and don’t wait until the last few weeks to start playing, as some players in your group might not be available then and you won’t get a chance to play your matches.

Have fun on the courts!
