Meadows Tennis Summer Ladder Competition 2010

 

 

Hi everyone,

I am organising this years summer ladder competition and would like to invite all those interested to email ladder@meadowstennis.co.uk providing contact details including an email and phone number (home/work/mobile).

 The Ladder will start on 9^th July and End on 20^th October with the subsequent two weeks employed to determine the finalists and winners. There is a cut off date of 27^th August whereby players who haven’t played a game will be bumped to the bottom of the ladder. Further details including rules can be found on the club website.

After a total of 26 matches and 63 sets, the last match in the ladder was played today. It was another gruelling 3-setter between Jackson and Alistair (who played seven 3-setters in total in the ladder, certainly a record!), with Jackson barely managing to come out on top. Last week Fiona managed to claim the ladies title playing Pip in "a close match in glorious sunshine".

By the way, we should have a summer ladder this year, starting in a few months.

The Meadows Tennis Club had been allocated 9 pairs of tickets for the Wimbledon Championships 2010.  

 

Day 3 - Wed 23rd June: Court no. 1 - 2 pairs of tickets - £47 per ticket

Day 4 - Thurs 24th June: Centre Court - 2 pairs of tickets - £52 per ticket

Day 5 - Fri 25th June: Centre Court - 1 pair of tickets - £65 per ticket

Day 6 - Sat 26th June: Court no. 2 - 2 pairs of tickets - £48 per ticket

Day 7 - Mon 28th June: Court no. 2 - 1 pair of tickets - £52 per ticket

Day 8 - Tues 29th June: Court no. 2 - 1 pair of tickets - £35 per ticket

These tickets are being offered to members of the club who are also British Tennis Club Members and will be allocated in pairs by ballot.  

Note that you must be a British Tennis Member (free to register http://www.lta.org.uk/BritishTennisMembership/) to enter the ballot. 

Any winner of a pair of tickets in the club ballot must use the tickets for themselves with a guest.  The guest does not have to be a member of The Meadows or a British Tennis Member.

The first men's warm-up doubles session will be Saturday March 13th, 11am, at the meadows courts. We should have finished by 1pm.

This is a completely open session, just show up on the day with your racket and a couple balls...

The 2010 membership form is now ready. New for this year is the option to fill in your details online, but you can also print off a copy of the form and post it as in the past.

• Mens Doubles Draw: we have teams entered in divisions 4B, 6A and 7A.
• Ladies Doubles Draw: we have a team entered in division 5A.
